Lower Crankcase Extension Inspection

  1. GM5028691

    Inspect all balancer shaft bearing (1) for grooves, scratches and any other damage.

  2. Inspect the balancer shaft bearing cap (2, 3) for grooves, cracks, scratches and any other damage.
  3. Inspect the balancer shafts (5) for grooves, cracks, scratches and any other damage.
  4. Inspect the balancer shafts journals if they appear to be scored or damaged.
  5. Inspect all sealing and mating surfaces for damage, repair or replace the engine block lower structural extension if necessary.
  6. Inspect all threaded and through holes for damage or excessive debris.
  7. Inspect all bolts for damage, if damaged replace with NEW bolts only.
