Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the oil fill cap.
  2. Disconnect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Lift up on the front of the intake manifold cover (1).

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Remove

  5. GM5137012

    Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect [3x]

  6. Retainer (2) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (3) - Unclip
    7. NOTE:

    Ensure any other retainers are disconnected.

  7. Wiring Harness (4) - Reposition

    Upper Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Remove [2x]

  9. GM5137016

    Upper Intake Manifold Cover Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  10. Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Remove

    Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge tube quick disconnects (1). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  12. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge tube (2) from the retainer (3).
  13. GM5439477

    Disconnect the electrical connector at the evaporative emission canister purge pump (2).

  14. Evaporative Emission Pipe (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  15. Evaporative Emission Front Pipe (1) - Reposition away

    Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  17. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Remove

  19. Oil Level Indicator (1) - Remove

  21. Electrical Connector (1) @ Oil Level Indicator Tube (3) - Unclip
  22. Oil Level Indicator Tube Bracket Bolt (2) - Remove
  23. GM5068106

    Oil Level Indicator Tube (1) - Remove

  24. Oil Level Indicator Tube Seal (2) - Remove and DISCARD
  25. GM5137171

    Retainer (1) @ Intake Manifold (2) - Unclip [7x]

  26. Wiring Harness (3) - Disconnect and reposition

    Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Clip Bracket Nut (1) - Loosen [2x]

  28. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Pipe Bracket (2) - Reposition [2x]

    Retainer Spring (1) - Release

  30. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Throttle Body (3) - Disconnect
  31. GM5420336

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Intake Air Pressure and Temperature Sensor - Disconnect

    Intake Manifold Bolt (1) - Remove [7x]

  33. Disconnect throttle body electrical connector.

    Intake Manifold (1) - Remove

  35. Intake Manifold Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD
  36. GM5520990

    Throttle Body Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  37. Throttle Body Adapter (2) - Remove
  38. Throttle Body Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
  39. Throttle Body (4) - Remove
  40. Intake Air Pressure and Temperature Sensor Bolt (6) - Remove
  41. Intake Air Pressure and Temperature Sensor (5) - Remove
