Removal Procedure
Engine Front Cover (1) - Remove - Engine Front Cover Removal and Installation
Using the EN-48589 Crankshaft Rotation Socket (1) rotate the crankshaft and crankshaft sprocket to stage 2 alignment position.
- Verify the timing components are correctly aligned for stage 2. Timing Chain Alignment Diagram
Install the EN-48383 - 3 Camshaft Retaining Tool (1).
Compress the timing chain tensioner plunger (1) and install the EN-46112 Tensioner Retraction Pin (2).
Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Timing Chain Tensioner (2) - Remove
- Timing Chain Tensioner Gasket (3) - Remove and DISCARD
Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain (1) - Remove
Using the EN-48589 Crankshaft Rotation Socket (1) rotate the crankshaft and crankshaft sprocket to stage 1 alignment position.
- Verify the timing components are correctly aligned for stage 1. Timing Chain Alignment Diagram
Install the EN-48383 - 1 Camshaft Retaining Tool (1).
Compress the timing chain tensioner plunger (1) and install the EN-46112 Tensioner Retraction Pin (2).
Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Tensioner (2) - Remove
- Timing Chain Housing Gasket (3) - Remove and DISCARD
Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain (1) - Remove
Timing Chain Idler Sprocket Shaft Bolt (1) - Remove
- Timing Chain Idler Sprocket (2) - Remove
