Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Test for the following values at each test location:
- Test for less than 900 mV between terminal A X2 at the X50D Fuse Block - Battery and terminal A X4 at the X50A Fuse Block - Underhood while cranking the engine.
- Test for less than 500 mV between terminal A X4 at the X50A Fuse Block - Underhood and terminal A X2 at the M64 Starter Motor while cranking the engine.
- Test for less than 500 mV drop between negative battery cable and the M64 Starter Motor Case with the ignition in CRANK/START.
- If 900 mV between terminal A X2 at the X50D Fuse Block - Battery and terminal A X4 at the X50A Fuse Block - Underhood
Replace the Positive Battery Cable between the X50D Fuse Block - Battery and X50A Fuse Block - Underhood, and continue testing voltage drop at all other cables.
- If 500 mV or greater between terminal A X4 at the X50A Fuse Block - Underhood and terminal A X2 at the M64 Starter Motor
Replace the Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable between the X50A Fuse Block - Underhood and M64 Starter Motor, and continue testing voltage drop at all other cables.
- If 500 mV or greater between negative battery cable and the M64 Starter Motor Case
Replace the Battery Negative Cable, and continue testing voltage drop at all other cables.
- Clear the Proactive Alert Using the Scan Tool "Vehicle Diagnostics" - "Vehicle Proactive Alerts".
- Go to next step: If all tests are less than the specific value
- Refer to Battery Inspection/Test
- If Battery Fails the Test
Replace the C1 battery.
- If Battery Fails the Test
- Clear the Proactive Alert Using the Scan Tool "Vehicle Diagnostics" - "Vehicle Proactive Alerts".
- Go to next step: If the Battery Passes the Test
- The condition is currently not present and may be an intermittent fault.
NOTE:
If Battery replacement is performed under Warranty, a Warranty Code from the EL-50313 Midtronics GR8 or EL-52800 Exteq DCBS Battery Tester/Charger IS required.
