Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B GE 47716)
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]

  4. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Remove

  6. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove
  7. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Remove
  8. GM5398000

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Remove

  9. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove
  10. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Remove
  11. GM5398001

    Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]

  12. GM5398004

    Front Compartment Air Deflector - (1) Remove

  13. GM5399292

    Thermostat Bypass Pipe Bolt (1) - Remove

  14. Lower the vehicle.

    Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  16. Thermostat Bypass Pipe (2) @ Water Pump - Remove

    Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  18. Engine Oil Cooler Coolant Outlet Hose (2) @ Thermostat Bypass Pipe - Remove
  19. GM5399325

    Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  20. Thermostat Bypass Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Remove
  21. Thermostat Bypass Pipe (3) - Remove
