Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
  2. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716)

    Radiator Air Front Lower Baffle Retainer (1) - Remove [3x]

    Radiator Air Front Lower Baffle (1) - Remove

    Radiator Air Lower Seal Retainer (1) - Remove [6x]

  6. Radiator Air Lower Baffle (2) - Remove

    Radiator Air Seal Retainer- Left Side (1) - Remove

    Radiator Air Seal Retainer- Right Side (1) - Remove

  9. Lower the vehicle.

    Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - Remove [7x]

  11. Radiator Air Upper Baffle (2) - Remove

    Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Remove

  13. Radiator Upper Bracket Bolt (3) - Remove [4x]
  14. Radiator Upper Bracket (2) - Remove [2x]

    Air Conditioning Evaporator Tube Clip Bolt (1) - Remove

  16. Air Conditioning Evaporator Tube Bracket (2) - Reposition
  17. Engine Coolant Fan Electrical Connector (3) @ Forward Lamp Wiring Harness (4) - Disconnect

    Wiring Harness Retainer (1) @ Air Cleaner Assembly - Remove [4x]

  19. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (2) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  20. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (3) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  21. Electrical Connector (4) - Disconnect [2x]

    Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Remove

  23. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (2) - Loosen
  24. GM5427525

    Remove the air cleaner (1) and air cleaner outlet duct (2) as an assembly.

    Retainer Spring (1) - Release

  26. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Throttle Body (3) - Remove

    Retainer Spring (1) - Release

  28. Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Turbocharger (3) - Remove
  29. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Retainer Spring (1) - Release

  31. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Charge Air Cooler (3) - Remove
  32. Electrical Connector (4) - Disconnect
  33. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

    Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  35. Front Tire Front Air Deflector (2) - Remove
    1. If equipped with AWD:

        NOTE:

        Engine Front Splash Shield Screw (2) - Remove [5x]

      2. Push Pin (1) - Remove
      3. Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Remove
    2. If equipped with RWD:
      1. GM5421504
        NOTE:

        Components removed for graphic clarity.

        Push Pin (2) - Remove [2x]

      2. Engine Front Splash Shield Screw (1) - Remove [5x]
      3. Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Remove

    Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Screw (1) - Remove [3x]

  37. Front Bumper Upper Fascia Screw (2) - Remove [2x]

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Screw (1) - Remove [7x]

  39. Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) - Remove [4x]
  40. Front Wheelhouse Liner (3) - Remove

    Retainer Spring (1) - Release

  42. Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Charge Air Cooler (3) - Remove

    Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Nut (1) @ Air Conditioning Condenser - Remove

  44. Air Conditioning Condenser Tube Clip (2) - Remove

    Air Conditioning Evaporative Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose (1) @ Air Conditioning Condenser - Remove

  46. Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (1) @ Air Conditioning Condenser - Remove

  48. Air Conditioning Condenser Hose Seal (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Wiring Harness Retainer (1) @ Radiator Air Side Baffle - Left Side - Remove

    Radiator Air Seal Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]

  51. Remove the left radiator air side baffle (1) by manipulating from between the vehicle components.

    Radiator Air Seal Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]

  53. Remove the right radiator air side baffle (1) by manipulating from between the vehicle components.

    Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  55. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Remove
  56. Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (4) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  57. Radiator Inlet Hose (3) @ Engine Radiator - Remove

    Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  59. Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Remove

    Engine Coolant Temperature Indicator Switch Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (2) - Disconnect

  61. Wiring Harness Retainer @ Engine Radiator - Remove

    With assistance, remove the engine radiator, air conditioning condenser, charge air cooler and engine cooler fan (1) from beneath the vehicle as an assembly.

    Air Conditioning Condenser Bolt (2) - Remove

  66. Air Conditioning Condenser Tube Bolt (3) - Remove
  67. Air Conditioning Condenser (1) - Remove

    Charge Air Cooler Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  69. Charge Air Cooler (2) - Remove

    Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Retainer (1) - Remove

  71. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (2) - Remove
  72. Radiator Lower Insulator (3) - Remove [2x]

    Air Conditioning Condenser Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  74. Air Conditioning Condenser Bracket (2) @ Engine Radiator (3) - Remove [2x]
