Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716)
  2. GM5405472

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Loosen [2x]

  3. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (2) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  4. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Remove

  7. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove all wiring harnesses from the air cleaner assembly.

    Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Remove

  9. GM5405482

    Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Remove

  10. GM5324124

    Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  11. Turbocharger Coolant Feed Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Inlet Pipe - Remove
  12. GM5324136

    Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Inlet Pipe - Disconnect

  13. GM5251871

    Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  14. Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]
  15. GM5251989

    Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Inlet Pipe (1) - Remove

  16. Water Inlet Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD
