Installation Procedure

  1. GM5323492

    Engine Coolant Manifold Gasket (3) - Install NEW

  2. Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Pipe (2) - Install
  3. Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Install, but do NOT tighten [2x]
  4. GM5323487

    Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Install, but do NOT tighten

  5. Install the wiring harness retainer to the engine coolant heater exhaust pipe.

    Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (3) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install

  7. Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
    8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Install - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Turbocharger Coolant Return Hose (4) @ Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe - Install

  13. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (3) @ Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe - Install
  14. Heater Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe - Install
  15. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe (1) - Install

    Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe (2) @ Auxiliary Water Pump Inlet Pipe - Install

  18. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  19. Raise the vehicle.

    Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe (2) @ Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose - Install

  21. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooling Exchanger (2) - Install

    23. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  23. Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Seal (1) - Install NEW [2x]

    Remove the caps from the fittings and plugs from the holes before installing the transmission fluid cooler pipes.

  27. Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe (2) @ Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooling Exchanger - Install [2x]
  28. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooling Heat Exchanger Outlet Hose (2) - Install

  30. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooling Heat Exchanger Inlet Hose (1) - Install

  32. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  33. Lower the vehicle.

    Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Wiring Harness Bracket (3) - Install

  36. Engine Wiring Harness Conduit Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  37. Engine Wiring Harness Conduit Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Wiring Harness (2) - Reposition

  39. Retainer (1) - Install [5x]

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Fitting Seal (4) - Install NEW [2x]

  41. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose (3) - Install
  42. Retainer (2) - Install
  43. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Connector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  44. Connect the electrical connector.

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install

    NOTE:

    Ensure the engine sight shield retainers fully engage the intake manifold cover studs.

    Push down on the front of the intake manifold cover (1).

  47. Install the oil fill cap.

    Plenum Front Panel (1) - Install

    Plenum Front Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

  50. Plenum Front Panel Nut (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  51. {If equipped} Install the forward lamp wiring harness extension (3) into the plenum front panel.

    Plenum Front Panel Nut (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

  53. Plenum Front Panel Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  54. Install the forward lamp wiring harness extension (3) into the plenum front panel.
  55. Install the forward lamp wiring harness extension retainers as necessary.

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector Retainer (1) - Install [2x]

    Install the windshield wiper system module (2) in the vehicle.

  59. Windshield Wiper System Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  60. Connect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.
  61. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Install

    1. Install the air inlet grille panel (2) between both hood hinges.
    2. Connect the windshield washer nozzle hose to the windshield washer pump hose.
    3. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [6x]

    Install the front compartment side sight shield (2) to the left and right side.

  65. Install the 2 front compartment side sight shield retainer (1) to the left and right side.

    Install the hood rear outer air inlet seal (2) to the left and right side.

  67. Install the 2 hood rear outer air inlet seal retainer (1) to the left and right side.

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension (1) - Install [2x]

    1. Install the air inlet grille panel extension (1).
    2. Remove the masking tape from the top edge of the service part.
    3. Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.

    Windshield Wiper Arm (3) - Install [2x]

    1. Clean the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arm (3).
    2. Position the windshield wiper arm (3) on the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft.
    3. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
    4. Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap (1) - Install

    If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

    1. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
    2. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
    3. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
    4. Inspect the windshield wipers for proper position to the alignment circles (1) on the windshield.
  71. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716)
  72. Check the transmission fluid level. Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check
  73. Start the engine and check for leaks.
