Removal Procedure
- Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716)
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
Using an appropriate tool, rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise and hold tension.
Accessory Drive Primary Belt (1) - Remove
- Slowly release tension on the drive belt tensioner.
Lift up on the front of the intake manifold cover (1).
Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Remove
Retainer Spring (1) - Release
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Throttle Body - Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- NOTE:
Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.
Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
- Front Tire Front Air Deflector (2) - Remove
Tire and Wheel Assembly-Left Front (2) - Remove - Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- NOTE:
Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.
Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]
- Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]
- Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Remove
Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Screw (1) - Remove [3x]
- Front Bumper Fascia Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Remove [7x]
- Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) - Remove [4x]
- Front Wheelhouse Liner (3) - Remove
Retainer Spring (1) - Release
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Charge Air Cooler (3) - Remove
Air Conditioning Evaporator Tube Clip Bracket Bolt (4) - Remove
- Reposition the air conditioning compressor hose.
Radiator Inlet Hose Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove
- Radiator Inlet Hose Bracket (2) - Reposition away
Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) @ Generator - Remove
- Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable (2) - Remove
Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect
Remove the upper generator bolt (1).
- Loosen the lower generator bolt (2) until it is disengaged from the generator bracket.
Remove the generator (1) with the generator lower mounting bolt (2).
Engine Coolant Heater Cord (1) @ Engine Coolant Heater (2) - Disconnect
Engine Coolant Heater Cord Retainer (1) @ Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket - Remove
- Engine Coolant Heater Cord Retainer (2) @ Engine Wiring Harness - Remove
- Engine Coolant Heater Cord Retainer (3) @ Wiring Harness Bracket - Remove
Engine Coolant Heater Cord Retainer (1) @ Engine Control Module Bracket - Remove [2x]
- Engine Coolant Heater Cord Retainer (2) @ Front Compartment Inner Side Rail - Remove
Drill out the front bumper fascia extension rivets (1) and DISCARD [4x].
- Front License Plate Bracket (2) - Remove
- Separate the engine coolant heater wiring extension harness form the front license plate bracket.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Screw (1) - Remove [10x]
Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Screw (1) - Remove [6x]
- Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (2) - Remove [5x]
- Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Retainer (3) - Remove [2x]
Pull the front bumper fascia center air deflector (1) rearward and down from the front bumper fascia.
Radiator Air Front Lower Baffle Retainer (1) - Remove [3x]
Radiator Air Front Lower Baffle (1) - Remove
Engine Coolant Heater Cord Retainer (1) @ Front Compartment Inner Side Rail - Remove
- Engine Coolant Heater Cord Retainer (2) @ Front Bumper Impact Bar - Remove [3x]
- Engine Coolant Heater Cord (3) - Remove
