Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B GE 47716)

    Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.

    Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  3. Front Tire Front Air Deflector (2) - Remove
  4. Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

    Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  6. Front Bumper Fascia Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.

    Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]

  8. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]
  9. Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Remove

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]

  11. Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) - Remove
  12. Front Wheelhouse Liner (3) - Reposition

    Auxiliary Radiator Duct Retainer (1) - Remove [3x]

  14. GM5482558

    Auxiliary Radiator Rear Duct (1) - Remove

  15. Remove the front bumper fascia. Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (without Blackwing) , or Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (with Blackwing) , or Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (with Blackwing CFV, CFZ)

    Auxiliary Radiator Duct Retainer (1) - Remove [3x]

    Auxiliary Radiator Duct Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    The front bumper fascia support brace (2) may have a forward range radar sensor attached, if equipped.

    Front Bumper Fascia Support Brace Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

  19. Front Bumper Fascia Support Brace (2) - Remove
  20. Disconnect the electrical connector from the forward range radar sensor, if equipped.

    Intake Air Duct Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]

  22. Radiator Air Lower Seal Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]
  23. Radiator Air Lower Baffle Retainer (3) - Remove [2x]

    Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  25. Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace (2) - Remove [2x]

    Horn Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  27. Horn (2) - Reposition [2x]

    Reposition the wiring harness.

  29. Front Bumper Impact Bar Bolt (1) - Remove [8x]
  30. Front Bumper Impact Bar (2) - Remove

    Auxiliary Radiator Front Duct (1) - Remove

    Using an appropriate tool, remove the retainer clip (1) from the radiator inlet hose connector.

  33. Radiator Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine Auxiliary Radiator - Remove

    Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (3) - Remove

  35. Using an appropriate tool, remove the radiator outlet hose retainer (1) from the radiator outlet hose connector.
  36. Auxiliary Radiator Outlet Pipe (2) @ Engine Auxiliary Radiator - Remove

    Charge Air Cooler Upper Bracket Nut (1) - Loosen

  38. Charge Air Cooler Bracket Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]
  39. GM5512214

    Remove the engine auxiliary radiator assembly (1) from the vehicle.

    Charge Air Cooler Upper Insulator (3) - Remove [2x]

  41. Charge Air Cooler Upper Bracket Nut (2) - Remove [2x]
  42. Charge Air Cooler Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    Charge Air Cooler Bracket- Upper (1) - Remove

  44. Remove the engine auxiliary radiator (2) from the charge air cooler bracket (3).
