Installation Procedure

  1. GM5323996

    Water Pump Cover (2) - Install

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Water Pump Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Wiring Harness Bracket (2) - Install

  4. Engine Wiring Harness Fuse Block Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electric Water Pump (1) - Install

    Install the electric water pump (2) into the auxiliary water pump outlet upper hose (3).

  7. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Water Pump Bolt (1) - Install [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Water Pump Bolt (1) - Install - Fastener Specifications

  10. GM5524599

    Electrical Connector (2) @ Electric Water Pump - Connect

  11. Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (1) @ Engine Wiring Harness Bracket - Install [3x]
  12. Position the wiring harness tie strap in place and install to the engine wiring harness bracket.

    Auxiliary Water Pump Inlet Pipe (2) @ Electric Water Pump - Install

  14. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @ Electric Water Pump - Install

  16. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Turbocharger (3) - Install

  18. Retainer Spring (1) - Engage

    Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Install

    Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  21. Connect the electrical connector and install all wiring harnesses to the air cleaner assembly.

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Install

  23. Connect the electrical connector.

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  25. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  26. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  27. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716)
  28. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
