Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Ensure the crankshaft sprocket is installed with the timing mark visible.
Crankshaft Sprocket (1) - Install
Verify the timing components are correctly aligned for stage 1, refer to Timing Chain Alignment Diagram . If not in stage 1, position the EN-48589 Crankshaft Rotation Socket (1), rotate the crankshaft and crankshaft sprocket to stage 1 alignment position.
Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain (1) - Install
Timing Chain Housing Gasket (3) - Install NEW
- Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Tensioner (2) - Install
- Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Remove the EN-46112 Tensioner Retraction Pin (2) to release timing chain tensioner plunger (1).
Remove the EN-48383 - 1 Camshaft Retaining Tool (1).
Using the EN-48589 Crankshaft Rotation Socket (1), rotate the crankshaft and crankshaft sprocket to stage 2 alignment position. Verify the timing components are correctly aligned for stage 2. Timing Chain Alignment Diagram
Install the EN-48383 - 2 Camshaft Retaining Tool (1) to ensure Bank 2 is in correct timing position to time Bank 1.
Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain (1) - Install
Timing Chain Tensioner Gasket (3) - Install NEW
- Timing Chain Tensioner (2) - Install
- Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Remove the EN-46112 Tensioner Retraction Pin (2) to release timing chain tensioner plunger (1).
Remove the EN-48383 - 2 Camshaft Retaining Tool (1).
Remove the EN-48383 - 3 Camshaft Retaining Tool (1).
Engine Front Cover (1) - Install - Engine Front Cover Removal and Installation
