Super Cruise Description and Operation: Notes
ONSTAR SERVICE PLAN REQUIRED . An active OnStar service plan that includes Emergency Services is required for Super Cruise operation. The terms and conditions must also be signed for OnStar, otherwise Super Cruise will not operate .
Verify the OnStar system is not damaged and is operating properly. An Onstar Blue Button press is recommended. Refer to: No Global Positioning System (GPS) Reception (UE1) . The message "Unavailable GPS Signal Lost" may display if OnStar is not completely set up. This includes such details as the OnStar account does not have the Terms and Conditions signed off.
Super Cruise is available only on limited-access freeways that are separated from opposing traffic.
Super Cruise is designed to be available and engage only under the following conditions:
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is ON

- Forward Collision System set to alert and brake
Refer to Forward Collision Alert Description and Operation (with UGN) , or Forward Collision Alert Description and Operation (without UGN)
- The vehicle is on a limited-access freeway
- Camera or radar sensors are not covered, obstructed, or damaged
- The system detects that the driver appears attentive
- The lane markings are clearly visible - lane markings may be obscured, for example, by glare or poor weather conditions
- Teen Driver is not active
