| Circuit | Description |
|---|---|
| Control - Terminal 1 @ G18 Fuel Pump - High Pressure | The output circuit is switched to ground to activate the component. |
| Control - Terminal 2 @ G18 Fuel Pump - High Pressure | The output circuit is switched to 12 V to enable the component (s). The output is PWM controlled. |
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
| G18 Fuel Pump - High Pressure | A hydraulic pump is a mechanical device that converts mechanical power into hydraulic energy. |
| K20 Engine Control Module | The control module contains a microprocessor used to process input data to control outputs. The control module controls a series of actuators to ensure optimal engine performance. The control module does this by reading values from a variety of sensors, interprets the data and adjusts the engine actuators accordingly. |
| Fuel Pressure Regulator | A solenoid valve is an electro-mechanically operated valve. The valve is controlled by an electric current through the solenoid. |
G18 Fuel Pump - High Pressure
A lobe on the camshaft pushes on a follower or roller that moves a piston. The piston in the pump has two cycles, suction and compression. The fuel is pushed into the low-pressure side of the fuel system when the solenoid is open.
Fuel Pressure Regulator @ G18 Fuel Pump - High Pressure
The fuel pressure regulator is a solenoid valve that restricts the flow of fuel to the high pressure fuel pump and thereby controls the pressure the pump can produce.
