Circuit/System Verification

- This procedure uses generic scan tool control functions and parameter names.For detailed scan tool information, refer to: Diagnostic Aids
- For component location, refer to: Diagnostic Aids or Repair Instructions
- Engine - Idling - At normal operating temperature
- Verify the appropriate scan tool parameter:
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- If not the specified state
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- Verify the appropriate scan tool parameter: Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater = 0.3 to 2.9 A
- If not in the specified range
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If within the specified range
- If not in the specified range
- Verify the appropriate scan tool parameter: Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater = The parameter value should not change
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B52 Heated Oxygen Sensor
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- If the parameter value changes
Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal (s) / Electrical Connector (s)
- Go to next step: If the parameter value does not change
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
