Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Engine - Idling
- Perform the appropriate scan tool control function: Turbocharger Wastegate Position - Command the component to the maximum position/speed & Release Control
Verify the scan tool parameter:
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger 2 Wastegate Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger 2 Wastegate Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger 2 Wastegate Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- If not the specified state
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- Perform the appropriate scan tool control function: Turbocharger Wastegate Position - Command the component to the maximum position/speed & Release Control
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger Wastegate Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger 2 Wastegate Control Circuit High Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger 2 Wastegate Control Circuit Low Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Turbocharger 2 Wastegate Control Circuit Open Test Status = Not Run or Okay
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- Wiggle the harness and connector: Q42A Turbocharger 1 Wastegate Solenoid Valve
- Wiggle the harness and connector: Q42B Turbocharger 2 Wastegate Solenoid Valve
- If not the specified state
Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal (s) / Electrical Connector (s)
- Go to next step: If the specified state
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets

- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
