Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Remove the component: Q40 Turbocharger Bypass Valve Solenoid - Leave the electrical connector connected.
- Perform the scan tool control function: Turbocharger/Supercharger Bypass Valve - Increase & Decrease
Verify the component opens and closes: Q40 Turbocharger Bypass Valve Solenoid
- If the component does not open and close
Replace the component: Q40 Turbocharger Bypass Valve Solenoid
- Go to next step: If the component opens and closes
- If the component does not open and close
- Verify a condition does not exist with the component: Turbocharger - Refer to: Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger Overhaul
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary
- Go to next step: If no condition exists
- If a condition exists
- Replace the component: Q40 Turbocharger Bypass Valve Solenoid
