With Scan Tool

  1. Perform the following steps:
    • Parking Brake - Apply
    • Drive Wheels - Block
  2. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  3. Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system: B227 Gear Position Sensor
    • Go to next step: If a related DTC is not set 
  4. Engine - Running
  5. Select: Module Diagnostics
  6. Select: Engine Control Module
  7. Select: Configuration/Reset Functions
  8. Select: Learn Functions
  9. Select: Gear Position Sensor Learn
  10. Select: Learn
  11. Apply - Clutch Pedal
  12. Shift Control Lever - Select each position
  13. Shift Control Lever - Neutral
  14. Release - Clutch Pedal
  15. Verify the scan tool parameter: Gear Position Sensor Learn Status =/Complete Learned
    • If not the specified value 

      Repeat the procedure starting at step 2

    • Go to next step: If the specified value 
  16. All OK.
