1st and 2nd and 3rd and 4th Shift Shaft Assembly

    Remove the 1st and 2nd shift fork (1) from the 1st and 2nd and 3rd and 4th shift shaft (2).

  2. Remove the 3rd and 4th shift fork (3) from the 1st and 2nd and 3rd and 4th shift shaft (2).

    Remove the shift interlock plate (1) from the selector control lever (2).

  4. Remove the reverse shift block interlock pin (3).
  5. Remove the selector control lever (2) from the 1st and 2nd and 3rd and 4th shift shaft (4).

5th and 6th and Reverse Shift Shaft Assembly

    Remove the reverse shift fork retaining ring (1) from the 5th and 6th and reverse shift shaft (7).

  2. Remove the reverse shift fork (2) from the 5th and 6th and reverse shift shaft (7).
  3. Remove the manual transmission shift shaft collar (3) from the 5th and 6th and reverse shift shaft (7).
  4. Remove the 1st and 2nd shift fork pin (4) from the 5th and 6th and reverse shift shaft (7).
  5. Remove the 5th and 6th gear synchronizer hub retaining ring (5) from the 5th and 6th and reverse shift shaft (7).
  6. Remove the 5th and 6th shift fork (6) from the 5th and 6th and reverse shift shaft (7).

    Remove the reverse shift lever pin (3) from the reverse shift lever (2).

  8. Remove the reverse shift lever (2) from the 5th and 6th and reverse shift shaft (1).

    Remove the 5th and 6th shift lever (2) from the 5th and 6th and reverse shift shaft (1).

  10. Remove the shift lever retaining ring (3) from the 5th and 6th shift lever (2).

    NOTE:

    Do not replace the bushings unless inspection shows bushing damage.

    Using the J-23907  Slide Hammer (3) and the J-39439-2  Bushing Remover (2), remove the shift shaft bushings (1) from the 5th and 6th shift lever (4).
