Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle OFF, disconnect the X2 connector at the K40P Passenger Seat Adjuster Memory Module.
  2. Ignition/Vehicle in Service Mode.
  3. Test for less than 1 V between control circuit terminal 7 and ground.
    • If 1 V or greater 
    1. Test circuit 288 for a short to voltage.
      • If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found
    2. Test circuit 289 for a short to voltage.
      • If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found
    3. Replace the M55P Front Seat Vertical Adjuster Actuator - Passenger.
    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V 
  4. Ignition/Vehicle OFF.
  5. Test for infinite resistance between control circuit terminal 7 and ground.
    • If less than infinite resistance 
    1. Test circuit 288 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Test circuit 289 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    3. Replace the M55P Front Seat Vertical Adjuster Actuator - Passenger.
    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  6. Test for less than infinite resistance between control circuit terminal 7 and control circuit terminal 13.
    • If infinite resistance 
    1. Test circuit 288 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    2. Test circuit 289 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    3. Replace the M55P Front Seat Vertical Adjuster Actuator - Passenger.
    • Go to next step: If less than infinite resistance 
  7. Replace the M55P Front Seat Vertical Adjuster Actuator - Passenger.
  8. Connect the X2 connector at the K40P Passenger Seat Adjuster Memory Module.
  9. Clear all DTCs.
  10. Operate all power seat motors in the Up/Down or Forward/Rearward directions.
  11. Verify DTC B1096 and B1097 do not set.
    • If any DTC sets 

      Replace the K40P Passenger Seat Adjuster Memory Module.

    • Go to next step: If no DTC sets 
  12. All OK.
