Installation Procedure

Torque Converter (3) - Install
- Install the DT-21366 Converter Holding Strap to secure the torque converter into the transmission.
- Rotate the transmission to its original position then secure it with the locking pin.
- Remove the transmission (4) with DT-48989 Holding Fixture (2) from the DT-03289-20 Holding Fixture Base Assembly (1)
- Remove the transmission from the DT-48989 Holding Fixture (2).
- Transmission - Install - Transmission Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) , or Transmission Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
WARNING:
The torque converter must be held to the torque converter housing by a retaining device such as shipping brackets. Without the retaining device, the torque converter may slide forward, disengaging the oil pump, or may fall completely out of the transmission causing personal injury and/or property damage.
