Removal Procedure

    Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter (1) - Remove - Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement

    Automatic Transmission Fluid Baffle Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]

  3. Automatic Transmission Fluid Baffle (2) - Remove

    Manual Shift Detent Lever Spring Bolt (1) - Remove

  5. Manual Shift Detent Lever Spring (2) - Remove

    Remove the transmission control wiring harness retainer (5).

  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors as needed then remove the transmission control wiring harness (4).

    Pull back the manual valve spring (2), then disconnect the manual valve (1) from the manual shift shaft position switch assembly linkage (3).

    Rotate the engine as necessary to obtain access to the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket retainer (2).

  10. Using a suitable pry tool, unlock the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket retainer (2).
  11. Remove the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket (1).

    NOTE:

    Do not remove all the bolts in the control valve body assembly. Remove only the bolts indicated.

    Using the DT-48285  Valve Body Torx Plus Socket, remove the 7 M6 x 68 control valve solenoid body bolts (2).

  13. Using the DT-48285  Valve Body Torx Plus Socket, remove the 4 M6 x 45 control valve solenoid body bolts (1).
  14. CAUTION:

    Use care when handling the control valve body assembly. If dropped, damage to the control solenoid valve body assembly internal components may result.

  15. Control Valve Body (3) - Remove

    Clutch Housing Fluid Passage Seal (1) - Remove and DISCARD

    Disconnect the transmission wiring harness electrical connector (1).

    Using the appropriate tool, push inward on the main connector (2) into the transmission case.

    Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
