Component Testing
Relay Test
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the KR14 Brake Booster Pump Motor Relay.
- Test for 70-150 Ω between relay connector X1 terminals 1 and 2.
- If less than 70 Ω or greater than 150 Ω
Replace the KR14 Brake Booster Pump Motor Relay.
- Go to next step: If between 70-150 Ω
- If less than 70 Ω or greater than 150 Ω
- Test for less than 10 Ω between relay connector X1 terminal 5 and relay connector X2 terminal 1.
- If more than 10 Ω
Replace the KR14 Brake Booster Pump Motor Relay.
- Go to next step: If less than 10 Ω
- If more than 10 Ω
- Test for infinite resistance between the terminals listed below:
- Connector X1 terminal 1 and connector X2 terminal 2
- Connector X1 terminal 1 and connector X2 terminal 5
- Connector X1 terminal 1 and connector X2 terminal 1
- Connector X1 terminals 2 and 5
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the KR14 Brake Booster Pump Motor Relay.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Install a 25 A fused jumper wire between relay connector X1 terminal 2 and 12 V. Install a jumper wire between relay connector X1 terminal 1 and ground.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between relay connector X1 terminal 1 and relay connector X2 terminal 2.
- If 5 Ω or greater
Replace the KR14 Brake Booster Pump Motor Relay.
- Go to next step: If less than 5 Ω
- If 5 Ω or greater
- All OK
