Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  2. Remove the left instrument panel trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  3. Remove the center instrument panel trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Center .

    Remove the bolts (1) securing the instrument panel knee bolster to the instrument carrier.

    Remove the bolt (1) securing the instrument panel knee bolster to the instrument carrier.

    Remove the bolts (1) securing the data link connector (2) to the instrument panel knee bolster and the knee bolster to the instrument panel carrier support bracket.

    Press in on the sides of the door to release the instrument panel compartment door stops.

  8. Swing the door (1) down to access the fasteners inside the compartment.

    Remove the bolts (1) securing the bottom of the instrument panel knee bolster to the instrument carrier.

    Remove the instrument panel knee bolster (1) secured by retainers to the instrument carrier.

  11. Disconnect the electrical connections.
