Installation Procedure

    Starting approximately 25 mm (1 in) at the rear of the engine, lower the fuel injection fuel rail (1) and slide it forward to align the fuel injectors with the cylinder head bores.

  2. Fig 1: Fuel Rail Bolts With Tightening Sequence

    Start and hand tighten the two outer fuel injection fuel rail fasteners to seat the fuel injectors.

  3. Start and hand tighten the remaining fuel injection fuel rail fasteners.
  4. Tighten the fuel rail fasteners in the sequence shown above:
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. In the sequence shown in the graphic, tighten the fuel injection fuel rail fasteners to:
    1. First Pass: 12 N.m (106 lb in)
    2. Final Pass: 23 N.m (17 lb ft)
  6. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly - Bank 2 - Install - Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 2 (LF3) 
  7. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
