The transfer case control module has detected that the transfer case clutch has failed to reach the desired output torque after three attempts.

The transfer case control module has determined that the power down kiss point learn has failed 20 times in a row.

C0397 F3 

The transfer case control module has determined that the maximum clutch wear out limit has been exceeded.

C0397 F4 

The transfer case control module has detected that the transfer case range actuator position sensor, or the transfer case range position sensor has exceeded the upper/lower over travel limits.
