Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW valve rocker arm gasket (2).
  2. Install the valve rocker arm cover (1).

  3. Install valve rocker arm cover bolts (1) and hand tighten.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Tighten the bolts in sequence to 10 N.m (89 lb in) as shown.
  5. Install the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement .
  6. Position and attach the heater inlet and outlet hose bracket retainer.
  7. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Chevrolet and GMC)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Cadillac) .
