Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley, or damage may occur.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
  2. Front Wheelhouse Liner - Right Side - Remove. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Cadillac)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Chevrolet)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (GMC) .
  3. Exhaust Manifold - Right Side - Remove. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement - Right Side (L83, L86) .

  4. Remove and DISCARD the 4 engine mount frame side bolts (1).
  5. Position a screw jack and a block of wood under the lower engine oil pan.

  6. Remove the 4 engine mount to engine block bolts (1).

  7. Engine Mount (1) - Remove
