Installation Procedure
- Position the engine mount (1) to the engine block.
- If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
CAUTION:Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Install the 4 engine mount engine side bolts (1) and tighten to 65 N.m (48 lb ft).
- Using the adjustable jack, lower the engine until the engine mount is sitting flush on the frame.
- Remove the adjustable jack and block of wood from the engine oil pan.CAUTION: Refer to Torque-To-Yield Fastener Caution
- Install and tighten the 3 NEW engine mount to frame bolts (1) in the sequence shown.
- First pass 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Final pass 65 degress
- Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft (3) @ Intermediate Steering Shaft » Install
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Nut (2) » Install
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Bolt (1) » Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Exhaust Manifold - Left Side » Install - Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Left Side (L83, L86) .
- Front Wheelhouse Liner - Left Side » Install -Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (Cadillac)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (GMC)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet) .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
