Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the upper oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  2. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
  3. Remove the vacuum pump. Refer to Vacuum Pump Replacement .
  4. Remove the engine coolant manifold. Refer to Engine Coolant Manifold Replacement (L83, L86) .
  5. Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (L83 L86) .

  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1).
    7. Fig 2: Front Cover And Bolts

  7. Remove the front cover bolts (1 and 2).
  8. Remove front cover (3).
  9. Ensure to clean and inspect the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Cleaning and Inspection .
