Installation Procedure

  1. Apply a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant on the engine front cover as shown (a). Apply a 5 mm (0.197 in) bead of RTV sealant on the engine front cover as shown (b). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .

  2. Install the front cover (3).
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the front cover bolts (1 and 2).

  4. Tighten bolts (2 and 3) in sequence as shown above to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connectors (1).
  6. Install the engine coolant manifold. Refer to Engine Coolant Manifold Replacement (L83, L86) .
  7. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
  8. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (L83 L86) .
  9. Install the vacuum pump. Refer to Vacuum Pump Replacement .
  10. Install the upper oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
