WARNING: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury. CAUTION: If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced. CAUTION: Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced. Preliminary Procedures Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the left front side door sill garnish molding. Refer to Front Side Door Sill Garnish Molding Replacement Remove the left instrument panel fuse block access hole cover. Refer to Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover Replacement (Chevrolet/GMC) Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille. Refer to Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille Replacement (Chevrolet/GMC) Remove the instrument panel outer air outlet left side. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet/GMC)
1	Roof Wiring Harness Retainer (Qty 2)
2	Roof Wiring Harness Procedure Disconnect the connector from the instrument panel fuse block. Disconnect the connector from the body wiring harness junction block Disconnect the inline connectors to instrument panel wiring harness under the left front speaker. Guide the harness up through the opening of the instrument panel. Remove the headliner harness. Refer to Headliner Harness Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
Remove the left front side door sill garnish molding. Refer to Front Side Door Sill Garnish Molding Replacement
Remove the left instrument panel fuse block access hole cover. Refer to Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover Replacement (Chevrolet/GMC)
Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille. Refer to Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille Replacement (Chevrolet/GMC)
Remove the instrument panel outer air outlet left side. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet/GMC)

Procedure

Disconnect the connector from the instrument panel fuse block.
Disconnect the connector from the body wiring harness junction block
Disconnect the inline connectors to instrument panel wiring harness under the left front speaker.
Guide the harness up through the opening of the instrument panel.
Remove the headliner harness. Refer to Headliner Harness Replacement
