Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake pedal (1).

  3. Connect the brake pedal adjuster actuator cable (1) to the brake pedal adjuster actuator.
    1. Push the brake pedal adjuster actuator cable downward until the locking tabs are fully engaged in the brake pedal adjuster actuator.
    2. Rotate the brake pedal adjuster actuator cable collar clockwise.

  5. If installing a new brake pedal pivot bushing, ensure the conical flange end of the bushing is on the inboard side of the pedal.
  6. For installation, apply high temperature lubricant to the ID of the brake pedal pivot bushing. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  7. Install the brake pedal pivot bolt (1).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  9. While holding the brake pedal pivot bolt stationary, install the brake pedal pivot nut (1) and tighten to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
  10. Apply a thin coat of high temperature lubricant to the brake pedal pivot pin. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  11. Connect the power brake booster pushrod.

  13. Install the power brake booster pushrod retainer clip (1).
  14. Rotate the power brake booster retainer clip 360 degrees to ensure the clip is fully engaged in the brake pedal pivot pin groove.

  16. Install the power brake booster pushrod retainer clip bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  18. Install the brake pedal position sensor (1).

  20. Install the brake pedal position sensor bolt (1) and tighten to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
  21. Connect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
  22. Calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .
