Installation Procedure
- Install the brake pedal (1).
- Connect the brake pedal adjuster actuator cable (1) to the brake pedal adjuster actuator.
- Push the brake pedal adjuster actuator cable downward until the locking tabs are fully engaged in the brake pedal adjuster actuator.
- Rotate the brake pedal adjuster actuator cable collar clockwise.
- If installing a new brake pedal pivot bushing, ensure the conical flange end of the bushing is on the inboard side of the pedal.
- For installation, apply high temperature lubricant to the ID of the brake pedal pivot bushing. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Install the brake pedal pivot bolt (1).
- While holding the brake pedal pivot bolt stationary, install the brake pedal pivot nut (1) and tighten to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
- Apply a thin coat of high temperature lubricant to the brake pedal pivot pin. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Connect the power brake booster pushrod.
- Install the power brake booster pushrod retainer clip (1).
- Rotate the power brake booster retainer clip 360 degrees to ensure the clip is fully engaged in the brake pedal pivot pin groove.
- Install the power brake booster pushrod retainer clip bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the brake pedal position sensor (1).
- Install the brake pedal position sensor bolt (1) and tighten to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
- Connect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
- Calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .
