Installation Procedure

  1. Lightly lubricate the 2 brake pedal pivot bushings with high temperature silicone brake lubricant.

  2. Install the 2 brake pedal pivot bushings (1) to the brake pedal.

  3. Install the brake pedal return spring (1) to the brake pedal.

  4. Install the brake pedal (1) to the brake pedal bracket.
  5. Lightly lubricate the brake pedal pivot bolt shoulder with high temperature silicone brake lubricant.

  6. Install the brake pedal pivot bolt (1).
  7. Clean any lubricant from the brake pedal pivot bolt threads.
  8. Apply threadlocker to the brake pedal pivot bolt threads. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  9. While holding the brake pedal pivot bolt stationary, install the brake pedal pivot nut (1) and tighten to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).
  10. Install the accelerator pedal position sensor. Refer to Accelerator Pedal Replacement .
  11. Install the brake and accelerator pedal assembly. Refer to Brake and Accelerator Pedal Assembly Replacement .
