Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement .
  2. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement (N33, N37)Steering Column Replacement (N38) .
  3. Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor electrical connector.

  5. Remove the power brake booster pushrod retainer clip bolt (1).

  7. Remove the power brake booster pushrod retainer clip (1).

  9. Remove the brake pedal assembly bolt (1).

  11. Remove the lower power brake booster nuts (1).

  13. Remove the upper power brake booster nuts (1).
  14. Disconnect the power brake booster pushrod from the brake pedal.
  15. Release the electrical harness from the retaining clips on the brake pedal bracket assembly.
  16. Carefully push against the power brake booster studs to position the power brake booster forward slightly.
  17. Maneuver the brake pedal assembly from under the instrument panel and remove the brake pedal assembly from the vehicle.
