Removal Procedure

  1. If equipped with four wheel drive, remove the front axle propeller shaft. Refer to Front Axle Propeller Shaft Replacement (NQH)Front Axle Propeller Shaft Replacement (Heavy Duty) .
  2. Remove the automatic transmission range selector lever. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Replacement .
  3. Remove the control valve body. Refer to Control Valve Body Replacement .

  4. Remove and Discard the manual shift shaft detent lever hub pin (3).
  5. Remove and Discard the manual shift shaft pin (1).
  6. Remove the manual shift shaft (2).
  7. Remove or reposition the manual shift shaft position switch assembly as necessary.

  8. Disconnect the park pawl actuator rod (2) from the manual shift shaft position switch (1).
