Removal Procedure

- Remove the transmission fluid filter (4). Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement
- Remove and DISCARD the 2 transmission fluid baffle bolts, then remove the fluid baffle from the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Baffle Replacement
- Remove the transmission control wiring harness (4). Refer to Transmission Control Wiring Harness Replacement
- Remove the manual shaft detent lever spring retaining bolt (1) and the manual shaft detent lever spring (2).
- Pull back the spring (2), then disconnect the manual valve (1) from the manual shift shaft position switch assembly linkage (3).
- Using a suitable pry tool, unlock the retainer (2).
- Remove the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket (1). Refer to transmission fluid baffle and driven sprocket in Control Valve Assembly and Transmission Wiring Harness Removal .
- Using DT-48285 Valve Body Torx Plus Socket remove the 11 valve body bolts (1, 2) and the valve body assembly (3) from the transmission.
