Component Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Remove the component: Automatic Transmission Fluid Pan
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector: X176 @ T12 Automatic Transmission Assembly
  4. Test for 65 to 47, 000 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 2 & Low Reference terminal 1
    • If not between 65 to 47, 000 ohms 

      Replace the component: B13 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor

    • Go to next step: If between 65 to 47, 000 ohms 
  5. Verify the value is within the range listed in the table: Temperature Versus Resistance
    • If not in the specified range 

      Replace the component: B13 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor

    • Go to next step: If in the specified range 
  6. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: B13 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  7. All OK.
