Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  2. If equipped with CNG, detach the harness retainers at the outer bracket and position aside.

  4. If equipped with CNG, remove the outer fuel rail bracket bolts (1).

  6. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer (2).
  7. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from the ignition coil wire harness.
  8. Remove the engine wiring harness (electronic throttle control branch) clip (6) from the ignition coil bracket stud.
  9. Reposition the engine wiring harness (electronic throttle control branch) as necessary.

  11. Remove the generator battery cable clip (1) from the ignition coil bracket stud.
  12. Reposition the generator battery cable as necessary.

  14. Remove the heater inlet hose (2) from the heater hose bracket (3).

  16. Remove the surge tank outlet hose (2) from the heater hose bracket (3).

  18. Remove the heater hose bracket nut and bracket
  19. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coils. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .

  21. Remove the ignition coil bracket studs (1).
  22. Remove the ignition coil bracket (2).
  23. Disconnect the right positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube from the valve rocker cover. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (Right Side) .

  25. Loosen the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
  26. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.

  28. Remove and discard the old gasket (1).
  29. Transfer parts as necessary.
