Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine. Refer to Engine Replacement .
  2. Remove the valve lifter oil manifold. Refer to Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Replacement .
  3. Remove the cylinder heads. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left Side , and Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side .
  4. Remove the CMP actuator and timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Replacement 
  5. Fig 1: Camshaft, Camshaft Retainer And Bolts

  6. Remove the camshaft retainer bolts (1).
  7. Remove the camshaft retainer (2).
  8. Remove the camshaft (3).
