Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine. Refer to Engine Replacement .
  2. Remove the valve lifter oil manifold. Refer to Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Replacement .
  3. Remove the cylinder heads. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left Side , and Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side .
  4. Remove the CMP actuator and timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Replacement

  5. Remove the camshaft retainer bolts (1).
  6. Remove the camshaft retainer (2).
  7. Remove the camshaft (3).
  8. For camshaft and bearing cleaning and inspection, refer to Camshaft and Bearings Cleaning and Inspection .
