Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Install a scan tool.
- Verify no other K17 Electronic Brake Control Module or K69 Transfer Case Control Module DTCs are set.
- If any other K17 Electronic Brake Control Module Or K69 Transfer Case Control Module DTC's are set
diagnose them first.
- Go to next step: If no other K17 Electronic Brake Control Module Or K69 Transfer Case Control Module DTC's are set
- If any other K17 Electronic Brake Control Module Or K69 Transfer Case Control Module DTC's are set
- Verify DTC C0397 is only set as a history DTC.
- If DTC C0397 is set as current
Refer to Circuit/System Testing below.
- Go to next step: If DTC C0397 is set as history
- If DTC C0397 is set as current
- Clear DTC C0397 from history.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data. The DTC should not set.
- If DTC C0397 sets
Refer to Circuit/System Testing below.
- Go to next step: If DTC C0397 does not set
- If DTC C0397 sets
- All OK.
