WARNING: When a lift gate hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
1	Liftgate Strut Ball Stud CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedures Disconnect the strut support rod or liftgate power assist actuator from the ball stud reposition and secure aside. Loosen the ball stud, keep pressure on the washer to hold it's position. Remove the ball stud and install the new stud while maintaining the position of the washer. NOTE: There is a flat washer between the body and side gutter held in by the ball stud. Tighten 30 N.m (22 lb ft)

Liftgate Strut Ball Stud

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedures

Disconnect the strut support rod or liftgate power assist actuator from the ball stud reposition and secure aside.
Loosen the ball stud, keep pressure on the washer to hold it's position. Remove the ball stud and install the new stud while maintaining the position of the washer.

NOTE:

There is a flat washer between the body and side gutter held in by the ball stud.

Tighten
30 N.m (22 lb ft)
