Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.

  2. Assemble 2 sets of the following: an M8 bolt, 2 each 19.05 mm (0.75 in) flat washers and an M8 nut.
  3. Remove the right and left hand air inlet grille panel extensions. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension Replacement .
  4. Have an assistant support the hood.
  5. Remove the hood open assist spring bolts (1) and set aside.

    NOTE:

    There is a positive stop which limits the hood from being opened too far.

  6. Raise the hood until the position notch (1) in the upper hinge is reached.
  7. Install the M8 bolts (2) into the hinge holes on the hood side of the hinge with the threaded part of the bolt toward the fenders. The threaded part will cross over the body side of the hinge. Install the washer and only snugly install the nuts.
  8. The hood is now set in the service position.
