Removal Procedure

  1. Set the park brake.
  2. {If equipped} Transmission Heat Shield - Remove - Transmission Heat Shield Replacement

    Remove the cable retainer bolt (1), then remove the cable retainer.

    Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) from the transmission manual shift lever pin (6).

  5. Slide the retainer (4) rearward to release the transmission range selector lever cable from the bracket.
  6. Front Floor Lower Console Replacement - Remove
    7. NOTE:

    Mark the orientation of the grommet to the floor panel for installation.

  7. Remove the grommet and cable assembly from the floor panel.

    Slide the transmission range selector lever cable retainer rearward (1) and remove the transmission range selector cable from the transmission control base.

  9. Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (2) from the shift lever pin.
    10. NOTE:

    A second generation range selector lever cable has a retaining bracket, the lower front transmission control retaining bolt will need to be removed first to remove the cable.

  10. Remove the transmission range selector lever cable from the vehicle.
