Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (LFX At Engine)

NOTE:

High pressure fuel feed pipes are one time use only. ALWAYS install a NEW high pressure fuel feed pipe if the pipe is removed OR the fittings are loosened.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief 
  2. Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LFX)
  3. Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (LFX) 
  4. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting. Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  5. Unclip any wiring harness connectors from fuel feed pipe.
1 Fuel Feed Pipe Fitting
CAUTION:

Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

Procedure

  1. Ensure the fuel feed pipe fitting and the high pressure fuel pump fitting are clean and dry prior to assembly.
  2. Lubricate the fuel feed pipe fitting with silicon free engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

Tighten 
28 N.m (21 lb ft)
2 Fuel Feed Pipe Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
50 N.m (37 lb ft)
3 Fuel Feed Pipe

Procedure

  1. Remove and DISCARD the pipe.
  2. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
