Airbag Sensing and Diagnostic Module Replacement

WARNING:

Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM). Before applying power to the SDM, make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedure could cause Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

WARNING:

Refer to SIR Warning .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling 
  2. Remove the front floor console rear air duct-forward of auxiliary blower. Refer to Front Floor Console Rear Air Duct Replacement (Forward of Auxiliary Blower)
1 Airbag Sensing and Diagnostic Module Nut (Qty: 3)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Airbag Sensing and Diagnostic Module

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  2. Perform the necessary programming and setup procedure: Control Module References
  3. Enable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling
