2016 NQF/NQG with MW7 Transmission Interim Model Year Design Change - Front Case Half - Addition of Transmission Extension Housing Seal and New Design Gasket

Interim 2016 MY, a new design seal (2) has been added to the rear of transmission extension housing and front of transfer case interface. A new design gasket (1) is to be used in conjunction with the new seal. The purpose of the seal is to control and limit the amount of transmission fluid that enters the wet-cavity area.
Earlier applications do not have the seal. When servicing an older application that does not have the seal, it is recommended to install the new seal and new design gasket prior to reassembly.
The new gasket is required when using the new seal. When installed, the seal should be fully seated against front of the Transfer case (3).
