Manual Mode Shifting Operation

  1. With the engine running, place the shift lever in Manual (M) position. The letter M of PRNDM display will illuminate to indicate Manual Mode. A number will be illuminated next to the letter M to indicate the current gear selected.
  2. Momentary pressing the Transmission Manual Shift Switch - plus (+) will command the transmission to the next higher gear. The current number indicated on the PRNDM display will change to a number to indicate the gear that the vehicle operator has selected, and if conditions are appropriate, commands the Transmission Control Module to upshift to that gear.
  3. Momentary pressing the Transmission Manual Shift Switch - minus (-) will command the transmission to the next lower gear. The current number indicated on the PRNDM display will change to a number to indicate the gear that the vehicle operator has selected, and if conditions are appropriate, commands the Transmission Control Module to downshift to that gear.
  4. To exit Manual Mode, place the shift lever in Drive (D) position.
