Propeller Shaft Oil Seal Sleeve Installation

1	Propeller Shaft Oil Seal Sleeve NOTE: Press the sleeve onto the shaft until the tool contacts the end of the rear output shaft. Install a NEW sleeve during assembly. The sleeve is to be installed without the seal. A properly installed sleeve should not contact the rear bearing snap ring. Procedure Using DT-51083 sleeve installer and a press install the propeller shaft oil seal sleeve. Inspect for a 3.7 - 4.3 mm (0.14 - 0.17 in) gap (a) between the sleeve and the snap ring. NOTE:

Press the sleeve onto the shaft until the tool contacts the end of the rear output shaft. Install a NEW sleeve during assembly.

Procedure

Using DT-51083 sleeve installer and a press install the propeller shaft oil seal sleeve.
Inspect for a 3.7 - 4.3 mm (0.14 - 0.17 in) gap (a) between the sleeve and the snap ring.
