Circuit/System Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 GMC Yukon XL, 2017 GMC Yukon, 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2017 Chevrolet Suburban. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The transfer case shift control switch allows the driver to select between 5 ranges. The transfer case control module supplies a regulated 5 volts to the switch through the 5-volt reference circuit. The current travels through the specific resistor of the currently selected range - each range has its own resistor. The current is then returned to the transfer case control module through the four wheel drive switch signal circuit.
The transfer case control module continuously monitors the switch signal circuit to determine whether a range change has been requested by the driver.
The NQH transfer case has the following 5 ranges:
- 2WD
- 4WD/AWD Automatic
- 4WD High/Locked
- 4WD Low
- Neutral
